They've watched internationals Darius Boyd and Mark Gasnier walk out the door in the past six months, but St George Illawarra have stemmed the loss of backline talent with the re-signing of star winger Brett Morris.

The Dragons, NSW and Australian flyer will remain in the Red V until at least the end of the 2015 season and now hopes to stay a one-club man.

The son of Saints great Steve 'Slippery' Morris, Brett has scored 75 tries in 107 NRL games.

"I've always wanted to continue my playing career with the Dragons having played all my junior football in and around the Illawarra area," Morris said.

"I'm looking forward to working under head coach Steve Price, who has a lot of fresh ideas for the direction of the team."

"I can't wait for the season to start."

Dragons CEO Peter Doust welcomed news of Morris' retention a week out from the season kick off.

"Brett is an important member of our playing group and we are very happy he has chosen to extend his career here with the club," Doust said.

"Brett is a local junior who has contributed to our club on the field and I am sure our Red V members, partners and fans will be equally as pleased that he has extended his term."
